Precipitation

Candice

Did you love me like the bluebirds love flirting with the sun?

Maritza

I did, until you lit away to finding other rays to bask in.

Candice

I never wanted to leave, but I had to climb Jacob’s Ladder. Your skies were too thick with precipitation to warm anyone.

Maritza

You never gave me a chance to clear up. It was always too much effort for you to wipe the rain from my face. Why do you think I dissipated?

Candice

I wanted to, I truly did. But I can barely see the sun through my own storm clouds as it is.

Maritza

This is why we can’t be together.
